i'm not sure. but high enough that i was able to notice and high enough to where if i was making what i did in winston-salem, i wouldn't be able to pay my bills. AT all.
i was looking at rents on craigslist and it looks not bad. i mean, not CHEAP, but not boston, either.
here, we pay $1225 a month for a house that has (potentially) 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms, two floors and a huge porch in a fairly good neighborhood. i can find a place for two people and a bunch of books in chapel hill for $800.
the problem with that is it's probably somewhere tiny. plus there are college students abound, so you have to be careful where you get a house/apartment.
our house is in a great neighborhood and we paid dearly for it :x
there are tons of students here too. you just have to find the places that don't have them, or have few of them. like the area i live in right now. mostly it's families and/or grad students but down the street about a block are a bunch of student-y places. it really just depends.
yes, i certainly like this one. when i get a chance, i'll play around with it today. not that it matters, since i won't be on lj for a week and a half... :x
